Lunch this week began with mini sandwiches filled with salami, smoked turkey, cheddar cheese, and sweet pickle relish. The fruit tray contains apple slices, grapes, and pink lady apples—all from the farmers market. Treats are Trader Joe’s olive oil potato chips (so yummy!), and each kid got to pick one piece of Halloween candy.

Tuesday’s lunch had a nice assortment of fruit: persimmons, pineapple guavas, and half a banana. The kids requested a bagel with pumpkin cheese in this lunch, which is the easiest sandwich ever to make. And I relented with yet another Halloween candy treat (somewhat counter-balanced with some nice, crisp carrot sticks).
