I hadn’t busted out the dolphin sandwich cutter this school year, so I decided it was high time I made some cutesy sandwiches. The kids requested Nutella and jam. I convinced them to let me add some peanut butter, because, let’s face it, Nutella and jam is a bit of a sugar bomb. And speaking of sugar bombs, I recently bought some pumpkin cranberry pita chips at Trader Joe’s (part of Pumpkin Craziness). I expected these to be more savory, but they are sweet. And salty. Quite yummy, actually. They’d be great with tea—or with a peanut butter, Nutella, and jam dolphin sandwich. The sweet rice roll is one of these random things I picked up a Costco. Good thing the kids like them, because I’ve got about 58 more rice rolls in the cupboard.
Today’s lunch is a gorgeous veggie extravaganza: sweet lipstick pepper and carrots from the farmers market. I also got a little bag of clover sprouts at the farmers market, because my little one is a sprout fiend. She just “loooved” these hummus and sprout roll-ups.
