There is something about October that makes me go insane for pumpkin: pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin oatmeal, mini pumpkin centerpieces, white Cinderella pumpkin displays, pumpkin garland… Okay, I have a total seasonal pumpkin fetish. Today I got the brilliant idea to combine two of the most wonderful things on earth, and the result is: yep, pumpkin pie style Greek yogurt. Plain Greek yogurt + pumpkin puree + a little brown sugar and honey + pumpkin pie spice = yumilicious. On the side is a little cereal trail mix. The little circles may look like Froot Loops™, but they are, in fact, Trader Joe’s “healthier” version of the classic all-American processed grain and sugar breakfast. Strangely, they taste almost exactly like Froot Loops, or, at least, my memory of Froot Loops (it’s been awhile). The fruit course is a continued celebration or our excessively long stone fruit season: plums and peaches.
